As citizens, we honor the service, commitment, and sometimes the ultimate sacrifice of the men and women who serve our country. Our Heroes’ Tree is an opportunity for our community to recognize the significance of the selfless service of soldiers, sailors, airmen, and marines who have served our nation in and times of peace and conflict. The Military Family Research Institute at Purdue University and Wabash Carnegie Public Library invites you to join us for the second annual Our Heroes’ Tree. Our Heroes’ Tree is a national initiative founded by Marlene Lee and Stephanie Pickup to recognize and honor the sacrifices made by the families of current service members, veterans, and deceased service members.

How You Can Get Involved:

1. Create a handmade ornament honoring a service member in your family or community from a past or present war or military conflict. You can use one of our templates if you wish. (available at the library circulation desks)
2. Bring the ornament to Wabash Carnegie Public Library this holiday season where it will be placed on a tree that will be on display on the second floor.
wabashlibhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/02202811302174790179noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7209229691598968945.post-49055603988912151032010-09-17T11:39:00.001-05:002010-09-17T11:39:57.466-05:00Computer ClassesPresented by David Fisher
Instructional Assistant
Learn More Center

Getting to Know the Computer
and the Internet
Friday, Oct. 1st
10:30-12:00am

Microsoft Word
Friday, Oct. 15th
10:30-12:00am

Excel Basics
Friday, Nov. 5th
10:30-12:00am

Intro to Power Point
Friday, Nov. 19th
10:30-12:00am

Registration is required.
Please sign up at the circulation or call the library 563-2972.
See you there!
wabashlibhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/02202811302174790179noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7209229691598968945.post-49131370254007042232010-09-02T17:09:00.011-05:002010-09-02T17:54:36.409-05:00Come in and take a look!

Value Line-The Value Line Investment Survey, serves as a comprehensive, multifaceted investment management solution used by both individual and professional investors to conduct basic research, formulate sound investment strategies, identify timely opportunities and make smart investment decisions.
Kiplinger Washington Letter- In four pages of text each week, the Letter tries to alert its clients to what is likely to happen in business and the economy, legislation and regulation in Washington and the states, demographics, technology, world affairs, politics and investing. She wanted to take up more space in the public arena. She wanted a voice in the way the government was run. She wanted the vote. She wanted to bob her hair, wear a short skirt, and dance the Charleston. The three novels we are reading this spring all feature protagonists who are New Women. Lily, Bea, and Mildred live during the beginning of the 20th century and break the gender norms of that time. Their lives are not only interesting historically, but also emotionally because their struggles are the struggles that women at the beginning of the 21st century still face. Each of these novels have been made into movies, so pop some corn as we will be viewing clips to decide if the book or the movie garners our “2 thumbs up.”wabashlibhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/02202811302174790179noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7209229691598968945.post-82099959100509692262010-01-26T12:37:00.004-05:002010-01-26T12:52:49.278-05:00Craft Book Club
Crafty Book Club

Shake off those winter blues at the library!
Join us for our first Craft Club for adults
presented by Wabash's very own local author and artist Candie Cooper!
The first session will be
Wednesday, February 3 @ 6:15pm
Come make a sweet Valentine ornament just in time for Valentine’s Day!
This class will show you unique painting, decoupage, glittering and embellishing techniques. As citizens, we honor the service, commitment, and sometimes the ultimate sacrifice of the men and women who serve our country. Our Heroes’ Tree is an opportunity for your community to recognize the significance of the selfless service of soldiers, sailors, airmen, and marines who have served our nation in and times of peace and conflict. The Military Family Research Institute at Purdue University and Wabash Carnegie Public Library invite you to join us for the second annual Our Heroes’ Tree. This is a national initiative founded by Marlene Lee and Stephanie Pickup to recognize and honor the sacrifices made by the families of current service members, veterans, and deceased service members.

How You Can Get Involved:

1. Create a handmade ornament honoring a service member in your family or community from a past or present war or military conflict. You can use one of our templates if you wish. (available at the library circulation desks)

2. Bring the ornament to Wabash Carnegie Public Library this holiday season where it will be placed on a tree that will be on display on the second floor.wabashlibhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/02202811302174790179noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7209229691598968945.post-54212876052263026222009-10-27T11:57:00.001-05:002009-10-27T11:58:24.449-05:00New MusicCheck out some of our new CDs!
Visit our website.www.wabash.lib.in.us/special.htmlwabashlibhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/02202811302174790179noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7209229691598968945.post-41204670826135165352009-10-23T13:10:00.002-05:002009-10-23T13:30:09.795-05:00New BooksIf you want to see what the latest fiction is follow this link!wabashlibhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/02202811302174790179noreply@blogger.com0
